In March 2019, the company signed a commercial contract with an overseas steel plant to provide a complete set of power quality solutions for 130T electric arc furnace and supporting refining furnace. The top feeding mode is adopted by the on-site electric arc furnace.
With data analysis and technical specifications confirmation, our company adopts 35kV/120MVar delta-connection cascade SVG device combined with FC fixed compensation equipment to comprehensively control the reactive power, harmonic, voltage imbalance, grid voltage fluctuation and flicker and other power quality problems in the smelting process of on-site electric arc furnace.

The 10kV busbar of Fujian Hua'an hydropower plant power development company 35kV Jinshan No.2 substation is connected with four feeders of Yuxing I, II, III and IV for the load of HUAYIXIN iron plant. Yuxing I and II feed two 8000kVA electric arc furnaces respectively, YuxingIII supply one 4000kVA refining furnace, Yuxing IV supply one 630kVA power transformer and 5000kVA reactive power compensation device. In normal production, two EAF and refining furnace will be produced at the same time.
View MoreIn March 2016, through the power quality monitoring system, it was found that the 35kV busbar harmonics of Huancuishan photovoltaic power station exceeded the standard. The Electric Power Research Institute then organized and carried out many special tests and analysis. In the power quality test process, the test points were selected from the secondary sides such as wayaokou station (35kV access point), high and low voltage side of main transformer and collector line side. It was found that the 5th and 7th harmonic current exceeding the standard was caused by photovoltaic power station, and the specific harmonic content is shown in Table 2.1.
