This project was signed between Guizhou Grid and RXPE in September of 2011 and consists of 10 sets of equipment for Guiyang Power Supply Bureau, Bijie Power Supply Bureau, Xingyi Power Supply Bureau, Tongren Power Supply Bureau and Liupanshui Power Supply Bureau. This project was successfully put into operation in 2012.

This system is used for DC melting in corridors of 110kV and lower. It outputs a DC current of 1000A, a maximum DC voltage of 12kV, and a maximum DC power of 13MW.

The customer needed the system to have no transformer and a 10kV connection as the rectification power supply. They also needed the device to be small, lightweight, and easy to connect the leading wire and device output side, as well as easily mounted on a truck for portability.

The vehicular DC ice-melting device supplied by RXPE transforms an AC current to DC current via the rectifier to heat the power transmission leading wire and thus, melt the ice coating. This device was mounted on a truck, making it easy to move.
